Home visits are for those who are housebound or too ill to get out of bed. If you need a visit please telephone before 10.30am. Please be ready to give some details to the medical secretary so that the doctor may assess whether a visit is necessary, and the degree of urgency.
Many people who ask for a home visit do not need one. A problem with transport is not a reason to request a home visit. Small children are best seen at the surgery, even when carried; bringing a child out with a temperature rarely causes any harm.
The computerised records and some pieces of medical equipment which are so helpful in modern general practice are only available at the surgery.
